You can scale the simulator (both iOS and Apple Watch) from the Window &gt; Scale menu, to 75%, 50%, 33%, or 25%:

This is enough to get even a Retina iPad simulator onto my 13&quot; non-Retina screen.

2 days old with Mongo and I have a SQL background so bear with me. As with mysql, it is very convenient to be in the MySQL command line and output the results of a query to a file on the machine. I am trying to understand how I can do the same with Mongo, **while being in the shell**

I can easily get the output of a query I want by being outside of the shell and executing the following command:

    mongo localhost:27017/dbname --eval &quot;printjson(db.collectionName.findOne())&quot; &gt; sample.json

The above way is fine, but it requires me to exit the mongo shell or open a new terminal tab to execute this command. It would be very convenient if I could simply do this while still being inside the shell.

Sometimes I need to use ```$scope.$apply``` in my code and sometimes it throws a &quot;digest already in progress&quot; error. So I started to find a way around this and found this question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12729122/prevent-error-digest-already-in-progress-when-calling-scope-apply. However in the comments (and on the angular wiki) you can read:

&gt; Don&#39;t do if (!$scope.$$phase) $scope.$apply(), it means your $scope.$apply() isn&#39;t high enough in the call stack.

So now i have two questions:

1. Why exactly is this an anti-pattern?
2. How can i safely use $scope.$apply?

Another &quot;solution&quot; to prevent &quot;digest already in progress&quot; error seems to be using $timeout:
 
    $timeout(function() {
      //...
    });

Is that the way to go? Is it safer? So here is the real question: How I can **entirely** eliminate the possibility of a &quot;digest already in progress&quot; error?

PS: I am only using $scope.$apply in non-angularjs callbacks that are not synchronous. (as far as I know those are situations where you must use $scope.$apply if you want your changes to be applied)

We have been trying to submit an app to the iTunes store using Application Loader for three days and keep getting stuck at the **&quot;Authenticating with the iTunes store&quot;** step.  
We have read many forums (including stackoverflow) and tried what was suggested:
 
- making a new provisioning profile  
- using different or multiple versions of Application Loader
- changing proxy settings
- rebooting the Mac
- uploading at a different time of the day, etc. 
 
We have even left it running overnight and have not had success with getting past this step. Unfortunately, no feedback is given about what the issue may be, and we have not gotten any error messages. We have submitted multiple apps without any difficulty in the past but are completely stuck this time!  
How were you able to solve it?

Application Loader stuck at &quot;Authenticating with the iTunes store&quot; when uploading an iOS app

I&#39;m working on an app with another developer and they just submitted a release to the app store that was built on their computer. In order to make a build on my machine (that belongs to the same git commit), I have to alter the path to one of the libraries we use in my XCode project. Will any changes I make to the XCode project file change the dSYM? If I was able to make a build without modifying the XCode project file, would the dSYM file be the same?

How is a .dSYM file created?

XCode supports those 2 values for this Build Setting:

Build Settings &gt; Build Options &gt; Debug Information Format.

Could anybody explain the differences?


What&#39;s the difference between DWARF and DWARF with dSYM file?

I am using a UICollectionView in my project, where there are multiple cells of differing widths on a line. According to:
https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/WindowsViews/Conceptual/CollectionViewPGforIOS/UsingtheFlowLayout/UsingtheFlowLayout.html

it spreads the cells out across the line with equal padding. This happens as expected, except I want to left justify them, and hard code a padding width.

I figure I need to subclass UICollectionViewFlowLayout, however after reading some of the tutorials etc online I just don&#39;t seem to get how this works.

I can&#39;t seem to find anything on this.  Are there any Siri classes or API&#39;s in iOS7 that let you do text to speech?  All I am trying to do is something like the following:

    [siriInstance say:@&quot;This is a test&quot;];

And then have Siri say it from my app.

It seems we should be capable of doing this, no?  Seems like a trivial thing.

Is there any quick methods to delete this trough **Xcode6** interface?

I&#39;ve also installed on a 10.10 partition and have access to the iOS 8.0 simulators there, but for some reason when following the same setup process on 10.9 no 8.0 simulators are available, I only have the option to use &#39;iOS Device&#39;.

My command line tools are the latest ones for Mavericks and selected under &#39;locations&#39;. If I change my deployment target I can launch a 7.1 simulator. The only potential outlier is that I use iRamDisk to manage simulator and derived data file storage. However, I&#39;ve disabled this, uninstalled and reinstalled Xcode to no avail. Could other Xcode installations be conflicting?

Any help or ideas are much appreciated. Thanks.

Using Xcode 6 on 10.9 no iOS 8.0 simulator available

I am trying to test the iCloud sync functionality of my app between a (real) device and the simulator, however I can&#39;t seem to log into iCloud. When I go to Settings-&gt;iCloud and enter my account details, it just gets stuck on &#39;Verifying&#39;. However if I enter incorrect details, it brings up the invalid password prompt as expected.

Has anyone got a fix for this?

If I change the language on an iOS 8.1 simulator to anything and try to detect this from code with

    NSString * language = [[NSLocale preferredLanguages] objectAtIndex:0];
    NSLog(@&quot;Language: %@&quot;, language);

I get &quot;en&quot; back. I&#39;ve tried resetting the navigator, etc. I&#39;ve tried this using the iOS 7.1 runtime (in Xcode 5.1.1), and it worked fine. Has anyone managed to find a workaround to this problem?
