You can also specify actions to be filter by your intent-filters:

This will start the LAUNCHER Activity of the application using monkeyrunner test tool.

The Android emulator is not starting, showing &quot;invalid command-line parameter&quot;

I&#39;m trying to make an `ImageView` that holds a gallery of images. By touching the user request to load the next image. If the next image isn&#39;t found in the server or takes time to load I need the old image to be empty.

`setVisibility(View.GONE)` or `setVisibility(View.INVISIBLE)` don&#39;t work for me because when invisible/gone I stop the `onTouch()` detecting (and the user is locked to current image).

How can I make the `ImageView` to load a empty bitmap or clear (remove) current bitmap?

**_Update_**: **I have not found a true solution to the problem.  What I did come up with was a method of automatically reconnecting to a previous bluetooth device anytime the connection is lost.  It&#39;s not ideal, but it seems to work fairly well.  I&#39;d love to hear any more suggestions regarding this though.**

I&#39;m having much the same issue as in this question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6317696/service-being-killed-while-holding-wake-lock-and-after-calling-startforeground including the device (Asus Transformer), the length of time before service is stopped (30-45 mins), the use of wake lock, the use of startForeground(), and the fact that the issue does not occur if the app is open when the screen goes off.

My app maintains a bluetooth connection to another device and sends data between the two, so it must be active at all times to listen for data.  The user is able to start and stop the service at will, and in fact this is the only way I have implemented to start or stop the service.  Once the service restarts, the bluetooth connection to the other device is lost.

According to the answer in the linked question, startForeground() &quot;reduces the likelihood of a service being killed, but does not prevent it&quot;.  I understand that to be the case, however I have seen many examples of other apps which do not have this problem (Tasker, for instance).

The usefulness of my app will be greatly reduced without the ability for the service to run until stopped by the user.  Is there any way to avoid this???

I see this in my logcat whenever the service is stopped:

Recently I have been having some trouble using GnuWin32 from PowerShell whenever double quotes are involved.

Upon further investigation, it appears PowerShell is stripping double quotes from command line arguments, even when properly escaped.

Notice that the double quotes are there when passed to PowerShell&#39;s **echo** cmdlet, but when passed as an argument to **echo.exe**, the double quotes are stripped unless escaped with a backslash (even though PowerShell&#39;s escape character is a backtick, not a backslash).

This seems like a bug to me. If I am passing the correct escaped strings to PowerShell, then PowerShell should take care of whatever escaping may be necessary for however it invokes the command.

What is going on here?

For now, the fix is to escape command line arguments in accordance with these rules (which seem to be used (indirectly) by the `CreateProcess` API call which PowerShell uses to invoke .exe files): 

 - To pass a double quote, escape with a backslash: `\&quot;` -&gt; `&quot;`
 - To pass a one or more backslashes followed by a double quote, escape each backslash with another backslash and escape the quote: `\\\\\&quot;` -&gt; `\\&quot;`
 - If not followed by a double quote, no escaping is necessary for backslashes: `\\` -&gt; `\\`

Note that further escaping of double quotes may be necessary to escape the double quotes in the Windows API escaped string to PowerShell.

Here are some examples, with **echo.exe** from GnuWin32:

I imagine that this can quickly become hell if you need to pass a complicated command line parameter. Of course, none of this documented in the `CreateProcess()` or PowerShell documentation.

Also note that this is not necessary to pass arguments with double quotes to .NET functions or PowerShell cmdlets. For that, you need only escape your double quotes to PowerShell.

**Edit:** As Martin pointed out in his excellent answer, this is documented in the `CommandLineToArgv()` function (which the CRT uses to parse the command line arguments) documentation.

If you have a jar file called ```myJar.jar``` located in **/myfolder** and you want to use the class called ```myClass``` from it, how do you go about doing it from the command line?

I thought it would be to go into the directory and say ```java -cp myJar.jar.myClass``` but that isn&#39;t working. Any help would be appreciated.
