The original solution will work fine, however it will not detect a custom ROM (non OEM) in call cases.  You may want to also evaluate the `android.os.Build.PRODUCT` string or other strings from the Build class.

The problem is that I don&#39;t understand what I&#39;m doing. From what I can gather (mostly from compiler errors), I&#39;m declaring a lifetime on which there is no restriction, and using it to describe the path parameter (meaning that any lifetime can be passed as the parameter).

So:

 - Is my understanding vaguely accurate?
 - What is a lifetime? Where can I learn more about them?
 - What is the difference between a parameter of type `&amp;str` and a parameter of type `&amp;&#39;a str` in the example above?
 - And while I&#39;m at it, what is `&#39;self`?

(I&#39;m using Rust 0.7, if it makes a difference to the answer)

I&#39;m using **Laravel 4** to create my project.

I am currently building the comments section and I want to display how long ago the post was created, kind of like Facebook&#39;s *&#39;10 mins ago&#39;* &amp; *&#39;2 weeks ago&#39;* etc.

I have done a little bit of research and found that a package called **[Carbon][1]** can do this. 

After reading the Laravel doc&#39;s, it says:

&gt; By default, Eloquent will convert the `created_at`, `updated_at`, and
&gt; `deleted_at` columns to instances of `Carbon`, which provides an
&gt; assortment of helpful methods, and extends the native PHP `DateTime`
&gt; class.

But when I return a date column that I have created, it doesn&#39;t display it like on Facebook.

The code that I&#39;m using is:

    return array(&#39;time&#39;);

Has any body used this Carbon package that could give me a hand in doing what I need, I&#39;m quite confused.

I want to find device specification of a mobile phone  for examples, the device manufacturer, model no ( and may be types of sensors in the device, wifi chipset etc..). I want to get the device manufacture/model number (eg. Samsung GT-I9100 i.e Galaxy S2) programmatically. The manufacture/model number is also used in Google Play when installing an app. I want to use this information to make some configuration changes in my hardware dependent app (for eg. power measurement).

Is there any way to make sure that the navigation drawer stays on top of the content in the fragment? 

I created a small test application with dummy data. 10 fragments with a corresponding numbered button and textview. The issue is with the fact that the fragment elements seem to have higher priority than the navigation drawer.

As seen in the screenshot, once I attempt to open up the &quot;0 fragment&quot; it instead opts to register the click on the button behind the navigation drawer. Pressing any other content item works fine, but this is as long as there are no other interactable items beneath them. What can I do to have the navigation drawer properly stay on top of the content behind it?

I currently have a `SearchView` in the action bar of my app. When I click the search icon, the `SearchView` expands and the keyboard pops up as expected. Clicking the &quot;X&quot; in the `SearchView` box closes the `SearchView` as expected. However, when the `SearchView` is activated and I press the &quot;back&quot; button, my app is exited. This is the correct behavior, but what I am trying to do now is to capture back button press and just have it close the `SearchView` (not my app) when the `SearchView` is visible. Is there a way to invoke the `SearchView` `OnCloseListener()` programmatically on a back button press? For example, something like this:

How do I close a SearchView programmatically?

I am trying to debug my application using a real device instead on the emulator. When I try to connect, it gives me the message:

&gt; USB device not found

I tried to unplug and plug it again, but it did not work. And I have also enabled _USB debugging_ and _unknown sources options_ in my device.

I know there are several Qs here that ask if its possible to add badges to an android app and they all end up with a NO answer...

But somehow the latest Facebook beta version for Android [seems to do something which at least look like a badge][1] even if it is not technically exactly that.

In that post one of the commenters says that it is somehow related to TouchWiz. 
And [also here they][2] mention it as a feature of the &quot;S3 TouchWiz Jelly Bean Addon&quot;. 

I still would appreciate information on how does this can be done and if there is some API for this that I can use in my own app (when running in an appropriate environment - i.e. the same device where FB demonstrates this behavior) ?

How does Facebook add badge numbers on app icon in Android?

I try to implement google oauth, following the [Google OAuth2ForDevices](https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2ForDevices). 

My App is registered on Google Cloud Console, as native App. When I try to follow the OAuth2ForDevices using Google Chromes - Advanced Rest Client Application, I get the json response with the user_code and verfication_url. Opening the verfication_url and enterering the user_code, leads to the follwoing Error: 

&gt; invalid_client: no support email
&gt; Error 400

I tried this with 2 registred Apps on Google Cloud Console. Both leading to the same error. 

**Anys hints, how to solve this? Do I have to register a `support email` somewhere in google cloud services?**

Is there a way to get the device model name (iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, etc) in Swift?

I know there is a property named `UIDevice.currentDevice().model` but it only returns device type (iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, iPhone Simulator, etc).

I also know it can be done easily in Objective-C with this method:

How to determine the current iPhone/device model?

After upgrading to OS X Yosemite I found that eclipse was not working because JAVA was not properly installed. I installed it and now I am able to open eclipse. 

When I connect my device, I am able to see my device on the device list in eclipse. However when I run my project, I am unable to see it on Android device chooser. My device is getting detected by Eclipse but I am not able to select it to run.

This was working perfectly on my previous OS X Mavericks! Please help!

In R, it is possible to hold a device, draw the picture, and then flush the device to render the graphics. This is useful for very complex plots with thousands of data points, color gradients etc since without holding, the device would be refreshed after each plotting operation. It works quite well.

However, once the plot is in place, any window operation such as a resize will cause the plot to be refreshed -- however, this time without holding and flushing the device, but plotting the plot elements one by one and refreshing the display each time. This is extremely annoying.

Clearly, I could call manually `dev.hold` before resizing the window, but this is not a real solution.

Is there a way of telling R that the device should be put on hold for operations such as resize?
