bringSubviewToFront should work, just make sure you&#39;re using it correctly. The usage is.

    [parentView bringSubviewToFront:childView];

Use this code, even you don&#39;t know about superView:


**In objective-c:**

    [subview.superview bringSubviewToFront: subview];

**In swift:**

    subview.superview?.bringSubview(toFront: subview)

Very simplified, I have two tables Source and Target.

    declare @Source table (SourceID int identity(1,2), SourceName varchar(50))
    declare @Target table (TargetID int identity(2,2), TargetName varchar(50))
    
    insert into @Source values (&#39;Row 1&#39;), (&#39;Row 2&#39;)

I would like to move all rows from `@Source` to `@Target` and know the `TargetID` for each `SourceID` because there are also the tables `SourceChild` and `TargetChild` that needs to be copied as well and I need to add the new `TargetID` into `TargetChild.TargetID` FK column. 

There are a couple of solutions to this.

 1. Use a while loop or cursors to insert one row (RBAR) to Target at a time and use `scope_identity()` to fill the FK of `TargetChild`. 
 2. Add a temp column to `@Target` and insert `SourceID`. You can then join that column to fetch the `TargetID` for the FK in `TargetChild`.
 3. `SET IDENTITY_INSERT OFF` for `@Target` and handle assigning new values yourself. You get a range that you then use in `TargetChild.TargetID`.

I&#39;m not all that fond of any of them. The one I used so far is cursors.

What I would really like to do is to use the `output` clause of the insert statement.

    insert into @Target(TargetName)
    output inserted.TargetID, S.SourceID
    select SourceName
    from @Source as S

But it is not possible

    The multi-part identifier &quot;S.SourceID&quot; could not be bound.

But it is possible with a merge.

    merge @Target as T
    using @Source as S
    on 0=1
    when not matched then
      insert (TargetName) values (SourceName)
    output inserted.TargetID, S.SourceID;

Result

    TargetID    SourceID
    ----------- -----------
    2           1
    4           3

I want to know if you have used this? If you have any thoughts about the solution or see any problems with it? It works fine in simple scenarios but perhaps something ugly could happen when the query plan get really complicated due to a complicated source query. Worst scenario would be that the TargetID/SourceID pairs actually isn&#39;t a match. 

MSDN has this to say about the `from_table_name` of the [output][1] clause.

&gt; Is a column prefix that specifies a table included in the FROM clause of a DELETE, UPDATE, or MERGE statement that is used to specify the rows to update or delete.

For some reason they don&#39;t say &quot;rows to insert, update or delete&quot; only &quot;rows to update or delete&quot;.

Any thoughts are welcome and totally different solutions to the original problem is much appreciated.

Using merge..output to get mapping between source.id and target.id

When obtaining a UIImage of a video via AVAssetImageGenerator, I&#39;m getting back images rotated (well, technically they&#39;re not) when the video is shot in portrait orientation.  How can I tell what orientation the video was shot and then rotate the image properly?

Is there a relatively easy way of looping a video in AVFoundation?  

I&#39;ve created my AVPlayer and AVPlayerLayer like so:

    avPlayer = [[AVPlayer playerWithURL:videoUrl] retain];
    avPlayerLayer = [[AVPlayerLayer playerLayerWithPlayer:avPlayer] retain];

    avPlayerLayer.frame = contentView.layer.bounds;
    [contentView.layer addSublayer: avPlayerLayer];

and then I play my video with:

    [avPlayer play];

The video plays fine but stops at the end.  With the MPMoviePlayerController all you have to do is set its `repeatMode` property to the right value.  There doesn&#39;t appear to be a similar property on AVPlayer.  There also doesn&#39;t seem to be a callback that will tell me when the movie has finished so I can seek to the beginning and play it again.

I&#39;m not using MPMoviePlayerController because it has some serious limitations.  I want to be able to play back multiple video streams at once.


Looping a video with AVFoundation AVPlayer?

I would like to know how to use these properties in the right manner.

As I understand, `frame` can be used from the container of the view I am creating.
It sets the view position relative to the container view. It also sets the size of that view.

Also `center` can be used from the container of the view I&#39;m creating. This property changes the position of the view relative to its container.

Finally, `bounds` is relative to the view itself. It changes the drawable area for the view.

*Can you give more info about the relationship between `frame` and `bounds`? What about the `clipsToBounds` and `masksToBounds` properties?*

The app works fine in the simulator, builds and runs.

When I attach my device (iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3) and target the iPhone, the result is &quot;Build failed&quot; with &quot;No issues&quot;.

Looking at the build results window, everything is green, has a checkmark, *including the Build failed notice*.

Expanding the transcripts show no errors.

I cannot exclude the possibility of a signing or provisioning error, but it gave me those errors, I ironed them out, and now it&#39;s not giving me any errors or issues, just &quot;Build failed; No issues&quot;

* In what ways can the build fail with no issues?
* Is there a way I can watch the build output to see if I can find the reason it&#39;s failing with no issues?
* Is there build output produced beyond the issues list?
* I don&#39;t see on the build window where it attempts to load the app onto my device - is this output elsewhere?
