What are the pros and cons of each [Behavior Driven Development][1] (BDD) framework for Java?

Does it make sense to use a BDD framework if I already use a mocking library (e.g. [Mockito][3])?

I need to do something fairly simple: in my ASP.NET MVC application, I want to set a custom IIdentity / IPrincipal. Whichever is easier / more suitable. I want to extend the default so that I can call something like `User.Identity.Id` and `User.Identity.Role`. Nothing fancy, just some extra properties.

I&#39;ve read tons of articles and questions but I feel like I&#39;m making it harder than it actually is. I thought it would be easy. If a user logs on, I want to set a custom IIdentity. So I thought, I will implement `Application_PostAuthenticateRequest` in my global.asax. However, that is called on every request, and I don&#39;t want to do a call to the database on every request which would request all the data from the database and put in a custom IPrincipal object. That also seems very unnecessary, slow, and in the wrong place (doing database calls there) but I could be wrong. Or where else would that data come from?

So I thought, whenever a user logs in, I can add some necessary variables in my session, which I add to the custom IIdentity in the `Application_PostAuthenticateRequest` event handler. However, my `Context.Session` is `null` there, so that is also not the way to go.

I&#39;ve been working on this for a day now and I feel I&#39;m missing something. This shouldn&#39;t be too hard to do, right? I&#39;m also a bit confused by all the (semi)related stuff that comes with this. `MembershipProvider`, `MembershipUser`, `RoleProvider`, `ProfileProvider`, `IPrincipal`, `IIdentity`, `FormsAuthentication`.... Am I the only one who finds all this very confusing?

If someone could tell me a simple, elegant, and efficient solution to store some extra data on a IIdentity without all the extra fuzz.. that would be great! I know there are similar questions on SO but if the answer I need is in there, I must&#39;ve overlooked.

I realize what is possible with the SiteMapProvider. I am also aware of the providers out there on the net that will let you map sitenodes to controllers and actions.

But, what about when you want a breadcrumb&#39;s text to match some dynamic value, like this:

I thought Graphics View will do the same, and also it has codec to display video. How to display images using Graphics View? I&#39;m using a `RotateAnimation` to rotate an image that I&#39;m using as a custom cyclical spinner in Android.  Here&#39;s my `rotate_indefinitely.xml` file, which I placed in `res/anim/`:

When I apply this to my `ImageView` using `AndroidUtils.loadAnimation()`, it works great!  

    spinner.startAnimation( 
        AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(activity, R.anim.rotate_indefinitely) );

The one problem is that the image rotation seems to pause at the top of every cycle.

In other words, the image rotates 360 degrees, pauses briefly, then rotates 360 degrees again, etc.

I suspect that the problem is that the animation is using a default interpolator like `android:iterpolator=&quot;@android:anim/accelerate_interpolator&quot;` (`AccelerateInterpolator`), but I don&#39;t know how to tell it not to interpolate the animation.

How can I turn off interpolation (if that is indeed the problem) to make my animation cycle smoothly?

Rotating a view in Android

Grrr...

I create a subclass of view as an inner class in my Activity. Before I simply linked to this view from my activity with:

    setContentView(new CustomView(this));

without problems.

Now, however, my view is getting more complex so I am making it part of a FrameLayout so that I can make this the base view and add a Spinner widget on top of it. The problem is, when I do this I get an error:

    java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{com.grafightscratch.ochemmer/com.grafightscratch.ochemmer.MoleculeTablet}: android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #4: Error inflating class com.grafightscratch.ochemmer.MoleculeTablet.MoleculeTabletView

So- this view worked before when I linked to it directly, but when I tried to add it in the main.xml file as part of a framelayout I got the above error. I also tried putting into a layout with only it being displayed via:

I tried making this view a separate class (ie- not an inner class) and it works. After some searching around I found some posts saying that the xml tag should look like this:

    &lt;com.grafightscratch.ochemmer.MoleculeTablet$MoleculeTabletView ...&gt;

Ie, a dollar sign should be used to separate the innerclass from the main class. However, Eclipse barfs on this, calls it an error, and refuses to let me build or deploy with that character there. So now the question becomes: how does one reference a View that is an inner class?

I have an Action of Edit on a Controller called &quot;Page&quot;.  When I first see the form to change the Page&#39;s details everything loads up fine (binding to a &quot;MyCmsPage&quot; object).  Then I click a button that generates a value for one of the MyCmsPage object&#39;s fields (`MyCmsPage.SeoTitle`). It generates fine and updates the object and I then return the action result with the newly modified page object and expect the relevant textbox (rendered using `&lt;%= Html.TextBox(&quot;seoTitle&quot;, page.SeoTitle)%&gt;`) to be updated ... but alas it displays the value from the old model that was loaded.

I&#39;ve worked around it by using `ModelState.Clear()` but I need to know why / how it has worked so I&#39;m not just doing it blindly.

Asp.net MVC ModelState.Clear

Where can I find the list of errors of which make the ModelState invalid? I didn&#39;t see any errors property on the ModelState object.

How do you get a list of all ModelState error messages?  I found this code to get all the keys:

If i do `return View()`, the error is displayed, but if i do `return RedirectToAction` (as above), it loses the Model errors.

I&#39;m not surprised by the issue, just wondering how you guys handle this?

I could of course just return the same View instead of the redirect, but i have logic in the &quot;Create&quot; method which populates the view data, which i&#39;d have to duplicate.

Any suggestions?
