I&#39;m looking for something like `git list-path` printing the
path of the associated repository (the `.git` directory).

A bit of background: I have set up git version control on quite a few of my
projects/folders.  Some of them are nested, so one directory with echo own repository is a subfolder to another directory tracked with another repository. 

 E.g. in my home directory (`~`) I use git to track my dot files, but
in folder `~/photo/meta-mix/` I have another project I track with a
separate repository. Now, say,I have set up another project in directory
`~/photo/meta-match/`, but I don&#39;t know anymore whether it has its own
repository. So I want to find out whether this directory is version
controlled and where its repository is.

How can I do this with a git command? `git status` can give me 

    nothing to commit

in *both* cases, when `~/photo/meta-match/` has its own repository or when it just refers to the repository of `~`.

I was writing some code today and got a weird compile error, which seems to be caused by initializing member variables in a different order than they were declared.

Example:

Then if I compile it with `-Werror -Wall`:

I realize that `-Wall` is explicitly asking GCC to go over-the-top with warnings, but I assume there&#39;s a reason for all of them. So, how could the order of initializing member variables matter?

I tried to do custom component. I extended `View` class and do some drawing in `onDraw` overrided method. Why I need to override `onMeasure`? If I didn&#39;t, everything seen to be right. May someone explain it? How should I write my `onMeasure` method? I&#39;ve seen couple tutorials, but each one is a little bit different than the other. Sometimes they call `super.onMeasure` at the end, sometimes they use `setMeasuredDimension` and didn&#39;t call it. Where is a difference?

After all I want to use several exactly the same components. I added those components to my `XML` file, but I don&#39;t know how big they should be. I want to set its position and size later (why I need to set size in `onMeasure` if in `onDraw` when I draw it, is working as well) in custom component class. When exactly I need to do that?

I have 2 activities (A and B) in my android application and I use an intent to get from activity A to activity B. The use of parent_activity is enabled:

I also use a theme which provides an UP-button.

So after I called activity B I can use the UP-button to get back to the activity A. The problem is that the application seems to call the *onCreate()*-function of activity A again and this is not the behaviour I need. I need activity A to look the same way like it looked before I called activity B.

Is there a way to achieve this?

I have a string that is built out of three parts. The word I want the string to be (changes), a seperating part (doesn&#39;t change) and the last part which changes. I want to delete the seperating part and the ending part. The seperating part is &quot; - &quot; so what I&#39;m wondering is if theres a way to delete everything after a certaint part of the string.

Well there are almost NONE good and deep tutorials and hardly any piece of data on how to do custom layouts right, so i tried to figure out how its done, what i am trying to implement is a Layout that paints a green oval at the center of the screen, and i want every child of this layout to be layed out around the oval.

you can think of that oval as a poker table that i want the children of this layout to seat around it.

What currently happens by this code is that i get a white app scren with no oval, so i debugged it and saw that onDraw never gets called...

3 questions:

 1. why is onDraw not getting called?
 2. the sdk warns me that i shouldnt allocate new objects within onLayout method, so where should i calculate the RectF so it is ready for the onDraw call to come?
 3. does calling super.onDraw() would make all children paint themselves? or should i explicitly invoke their draw()?

If I got it all wrong and you guys can guide me in the right direction, or have any links to examples or tutorials related to this subject that would be helpful too!


Android Custom Layout - onDraw() never gets called

We all know about the Android [Activity&#39;s life cycle][1] and [Fragment&#39;s life cycle][2]s. But is there anything equivalent for views ?

Is there any graphical representation of Android views lifecycle (a state diagram)?

I&#39;m struggling to achieve a &quot;floating section header&quot; effect with `UICollectionView`. Something that&#39;s been easy enough in `UITableView` (default behavior for `UITableViewStylePlain`) seems impossible in `UICollectionView` without lots of hard work. Am I missing the obvious?  

Apple provides no documentation on how to achieve this. It seems that one has to subclass `UICollectionViewLayout` and implement a custom layout just to achieve this effect. This entails quite a bit of work, implementing the following methods:

I would have used `UITableView` but I need to create a rather complex hierarchy of collections which is easily achieved with a collection view. 

Any guidance or sample code would be greatly appreciated!

CSS3 scrollbar styling on a div

I have this div:

The scrollbars are always visible, even though the text does not overflow. I want to make the scrollbars only be visible when necessary - that is, only visible when there is enough text in the box that they are needed. Like a textarea does. How do I do this? My objective is to add a vertical scroll bar to a frame which has several labels in it. The scroll bar should automatically enabled as soon as the labels inside the frame exceed the height of the frame. After searching through, I found [this][1] useful post. Tkinter scrollbar for frame

I have the following requirement:

 - At first, data for page no: 2 is fetched from the server &amp; the items
   are populated in a ListView.

Considering that both the prev page &amp; next page are available in a scenario, the following code has been added:

     }
        
     if(nextPageNo &gt; 0){
        mListViewActual.setOnScrollListener(this);

What conditions should I put to detect scroll up &amp; scroll down on the following methods:

 1. void onScroll(AbsListView view, int firstVisibleItem, int
    visibleItemCount, int totalItemCount)
 2. void onScrollStateChanged(AbsListView view, int scrollState)

After the action: scroll up &amp; scroll down is detected , accordingly a service will be called with either the prev page no or next page no , to fetch the items to be populated in the Listview.

Any inputs will be helpful.

Detect Scroll Up &amp; Scroll down in ListView

In IE10, the scrollbar is not always there... and when it appears it comes on as an overlay... It&#39;s a cool feature but I would like to turn it off for my specific website as it is a full screen application and my logos and menus are lost behind it.

In Gallery the scroll made at some distance it arrange in pair, i.e If we have three images shown in screen, clicking last image will arrange at center.

I implemented the new `SwipeRefreshLayout` component in my application and it works well with any vertical views, like `ListView`, `GridView` and `ScrollView`.

It behaves very bad with horizontal views, like `HorizontalScrollView`.
When scrolling to the right or left, the `SwipeRefreshLayout` view caches the touch, prevents the `HorizontalScrollView` from receiving it and starts scrolling vertically to perform the refresh.

I tried solving this issue as I previously solved issues with vertical `ScrollView` with `ViewPager` inside, using `requestDisallowInterceptTouchEvent` but it didn&#39;t work. I also noticed that this method is overridden in the original `SwipeRefreshLayout` class without returning the super. Google&#39;s developer left a comment instead &quot;`//Nope.`&quot; :)

Because `SwipeRefreshLayout` component is relatively new, I couldn&#39;t find a solution that fixes the horizontal scroll issue while still allowing the swipe to refresh view to track and handle vertical scrolling so I thought I&#39;ll share my solution with hopes it will spare someone an hour or two.
