They are *supposed* to be updated once every 24 hours.

However, Google Play is notoriously unreliable with statistics, and every now and then they stop updating for a few days. Even when updating, they tend to give out of date/incorrect data.

I&#39;d suggest integrating [Google Analytics for Mobile][1] or [Flurry][2] into your app(s) if you want good statistics.

I know I can type ``print someFloatVariable`` when I set a breakpoint or ``po [self someIvarHoldingAnObject]``, but I can&#39;t do useful things like:

    [self setAlpha:1];

Then it spits out:

&gt; error: &#39;[self&#39; is not a valid command.

Weird thing is that I can call `po [self someIvarHoldingAnObject]` and it will print it&#39;s description.

I believe I&#39;ve seen a video a year ago where someone demonstrated how to execute code through the console at runtime, and if I am not mistaken this guy also provided arguments and assigned objects to pointers. How to do that?

Here is my Perl and Python script to do some simple text processing from about 21 log files, each about 300&amp;nbsp;KB to 1&amp;nbsp;MB (maximum) x 5 times repeated (total of 125 files, due to the *log* repeated 5 times).

**Python Code** (code modified to use compiled `re` and using `re.I`)

And, on my PC both code generates exactly the same result file of 10,790 lines. And, here is the timing done on Cygwin&#39;s Perl and Python implementations.

Originally, it took 10.2 seconds using Python and only 1.9 secs using Perl for this simple text processing.

**(UPDATE) but, after the compiled `re` version of Python, it now takes 8.2 seconds in Python and 1.5 seconds in Perl. Still Perl is much faster.**

Is there a way to improve the speed of Python at all OR it is obvious that Perl will be the speedy one for simple text processing.

By the way this was not the only test I did for simple text processing... And, each different way I make the source code, always always Perl wins by a large margin. And, not once did Python performed better for simple `m/regex/` match and print stuff.

**UPDATE: 2012-10-18**

As other users suggested, Perl has its place and Python has its.

So, for this question, one can safely conclude that for simple regex match on each line for hundreds or thousands of text files and writing the results to a file (or printing to screen), **Perl will always, always WIN in performance for this job. It as simple as that.**

Please note that when I say Perl wins in performance... only standard Perl and Python is compared... not resorting to some obscure modules (obscure for a normal user like me) and also not calling C, C++, assembly libraries from Python or Perl. We don&#39;t have time to learn all these extra steps and installation for a simple text matching job.

So, Perl rocks for text processing and regex.

Python has its place to rock in other places.

I have an app that I want to be able to use to get a connection status report from a remote query.


I want to know if WiFi is connected, and if data access is enabled over mobile network.

If the WiFi goes out of range I want to know if I can rely on the mobile network.

The problem is that data enabled is always returned as true when I am connected by WiFi, and I can only properly query the mobile network when not connected by WiFi.


all the answers I have seen suggest polling to see what the current connection is, but I want to know if mobile network is available should I need it, even though I might be connected by WiFi at present.

Is there anyway of telling whether mobile network data is enabled without polling to see if is connected?

So when connected by WiFi If I go to settings and deselect &#39;Data Enabled&#39; and then in my app I do this:

     conMan.getNetworkInfo(ConnectivityManager.TYPE_MOBILE).isAvailable();

mob_avail is returned as &#39;true&#39;, but I have disabled Mobile Network Data, so I would expect it to be &#39;false&#39;

If I turn off the WiFi, there is (rightly) no connection as I have disabled mobile network data. 

so how do I check if mobile network data is enabled when I am connected by WiFi?

I took a look at getAllNetworkInfo() as suggested in the comments by ss1271

I outputted the info returned about the mobile network under the following 3 conditions

WiFi Off - Mobile Data on

WiFi On - Mobile Data off

WiFi On - Mobile Data on 

and got the following results:

So as you can see isAvailable returned true each time, and state only showed as Disconnected when WiFi was in affect.

**CLARIFICATION**

I am **NOT** looking to see if my phone is currently connected by Mobile Network. I **AM** trying to establish whether or not the user has enabled / disabled Data access over mobile network. They can turn this on and off by going to Settings -&gt; Wireless and Network Settings -&gt;Mobile Network Settings -&gt; Data enabled

How to implement Rate It feature in Android App

Is there any API or tool that enables me to automatically upload an APK to Google Play? I want to automatically publish customized apps to my account without any manual steps or graphical interface.

I searched around but could not find any API for doing this (only [android-publisher][1] but it doesn&#39;t support publishing, despite its name). Did anyone solve this already, seems like a basic feature?

What does this Google Play APK publish error message mean?

Account owner is the account who first signed to the developers console and created the app.

Only the account owner can invite people and manage users.

In our case, the person who opened the account is not working with us anymore, and we want to transfer the ownership to someone else in the company.
