The CSS tag &#39;margin&#39; is actually a shorthand for the four separate margin values, top/left/bottom/right.  Use `css(&#39;marginTop&#39;)`, etc. - note they will have &#39;px&#39; on the end if you have specified them that way.

Use `parseInt()` around the result to turn it in to the number value.

&gt; NB. As noted by Omaty, the order of the shorthand &#39;margin&#39; tag is: **`top right bottom left`** - the above list was not written in a way intended to be the list order, just a list of that specified in the tag.

I have trawled the net and Stack Overflow and have not found an adequate answer to this question. Before I start the trial and error process of finding my own solution, I thought I would turn to the Stack Overflow braintrust and see if there was already a successful implementation.

I have an AJAX powered page that degrades properly for non-javascript browsers and SEO.  Each click in the AJAX version can be represented by a unique URL.  

What I want to do is to dynamically change the HREF of the &lt;fb:like /&gt; button.  I do understand that this tag is converted to standard HTML at runtime (namely into a nasty table / iframe layout).

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to how to implement this FB like button onto AJAX powered pages?

I want to trigger an ajax request when the user has finished typing in a text box. I don&#39;t want it to run the function on every time the user types a letter because that would result in A LOT of ajax requests, however I don&#39;t want them to have to hit the enter button either.

Is there a way so I can detect when the user has finished typing and then do the ajax request?
