No, the `dotSettings.user` file should be *excluded* from source control. It has user specific information in it, and shouldn&#39;t be shared, e.g. bookmarks, unit test session windows.

The `.dotSettings` contains project or solution specific settings that can be shared with the team, e.g. naming standards or braces layout. If you wish to share these amongst teams then the file should be included.

I&#39;ve been using Selenium for a number of months, which we&#39;re using to automate some of our internal testing processes. The scripts have been passing fine. I&#39;ve recently upgraded to C# 2.40.0 webdriver using FF 27.01 and our scripts are now failing in random places with the following error.

The latest error I&#39;ve managed to track down to one single line of code:

The annoying thing is, trying to fix the problem is proving difficult, as if I run the test on my local machine, in debug it passes.  Additionally, if I run it via the NUNIT runner on the build machine I&#39;m running the test off, it also passes. It only seems to fail as part of our automated build running process when using Teamcity. Like I said, this has been running fine for months previously, and the only thing that has changed is the selenium webdriver kit. 

I have experienced this problem before, whilst in debug, and when a `Click()` line of code was called, Firefox appeared to lock up, and only stopping the test would allow Firefox to continue. There are a number of suggestions on here including modifying the webdriver source? I&#39;d like to not go down that route if possible if anyone else can offer any suggestions.

I was browsing through the documentation and noticed that `Console.WriteLine()` method had several overloads.  Particularly, my curiosity and partial confusion pertains to these:

It seems redundant. What is the need of the other four overloads on top of the first one?  The first method is able to do everything that the other methods can do.  Is there a performance concern that they were trying to tackle by providing additional overloads, which handle up to four arguments (last one)?  Is the overhead of going through an array of up to four arguments large enough to provide the need for these overloads?

I have been using `HttpClient` for making WebApi calls using C#. Seems neat &amp; fast way compared to `WebClient`. However I am stuck up while making `Https` calls.

Make Https call using HttpClient

I was attempting to do a Windows command prompt re-code in C#. I was wondering how the command prompt knows when to wait for the process started to exit, and when not to wait for the called process to exit.

For example, if you type in the command prompt &quot;notepad&quot;, [Notepad][1] will launch, but you can still execute other commands. However, if you open a utility such as more.com, ping.exe, or another utility, it will wait for the executing program to finish before letting you execute another command.

How does the command prompt know when to wait for exit, and how can this behavior be emulated in C#?

I&#39;ve been programming a lot in WPF lately but my View and ViewModel are not separate at this point. Well, it&#39;s partially. All my bindings concerned to text in text boxes, content for labels, lists in datagrids, ... are done by regular properties with a NotifyPropertyChanged event in them.

All my events for handling button clicks or text changed stuff is done by linking the events. It has an explanation of how to set up MVVM but I&#39;m confused with the `RelayCommand`.

What job does it do?

Why RelayCommand

I am trying to remove the file from my working directory but after using the following command 

    git checkout file_Name.txt

I got the following error message

    error: path &#39;first_Name.txt&#39; is unmerged


What is that and how to resolve it?

As a test, I added a file, rolling back using &quot;Revert changes from this revision&quot; and did the same process for the &quot;Revert to this revision&quot;, and there is no difference with the state of the SVN log.

**What I did:**

I think there were some weird configurations from the github gui that caused this issue and prevented me from being able to easily use git from command line or even git-bash.

I ended up just uninstalling github and git then reinstalling just git for windows. I now have everything running off the command line(except ssh which I run from git-bash). Much easier and more reliable that the github gui.

Thanks to mu 無 for taking the time to try to figure this out. I didn&#39;t end up using his answer, but if I hadn&#39;t needed to do a reinstall of git it would have been what I needed to do.

I am using the github gui on my local machine. I just noticed that a commit I was about to make was going to update all of my recently update node modules. I set up my .gitignore to ignore the entire `node_modules/` directory.

I&#39;m not sure what to do about this. All the file types I included in .gitignore were ignored. It&#39;s just the directories that it seems to ignore.

.gitignore is not ignoring directories

I am using Sourcetree for Windows for a git-repository and would like to undo an unpushed commit.

Is that possible? If I do &quot;revert commit&quot;, it creates a second commit which reverts the first commit, but I don&#39;t want the first commit to appear at all in my source control.

I could also delete my local repository and pull it again without my local commit, but maybe there&#39;s another way?

When I do a Get Latest in Visual Studio, if there are conflicts, there is nothing that is displayed to me to make it obvious. Invariably I think everything is OK, do a build, and often the build works.

The onus is always on me to remember to look for conflicts, to open the Conflicts window.
Is there any way to make VS get in my face, and tell me that there is now a conflict?

Resharper move line up down not working

I am currently working on a solution that has currently 32 Unittests. I have been working with the resharper test runner - which works fine. All tests are running, all tests are showing the right test outcome. 

However, the tests are not running when using the Visual Studio test explorer. 

The Test Explorer is showing all unit tests, but once clicking on &quot;Run All&quot;, all tests are getting greyed out and show no result of the test run:

Tests not running in Test Explorer

I have noticed a few times over the past months that sometimes I will use the little yellow lightbulb icon and right click it and select an option for it to fix something for me and then it just highlights what it was going to fix and pops up a message that says &quot;Failed to modify Documents&quot;.  

Has anybody had this problem?  
Do you know how to overcome it?  
It is almost as if resharper thinks that the document is read-only or something, even though I can manually edit the document.

I need a workaround for Resharper when it says &#39;Failed to modify Documents&#39;. Does anybody know why it does this and how to get around it?

I am unable to edit any files in a project in Visual Studio 2013.  It only happens in one project.  If I open a different project I am able to type fine, but once I go back into the problem project I am unable to type in the editor windows.  Not sure if it matters but the project that is giving me issues we are using SVN on.  The other projects are just local ones on the machine.  I have restarted Visual Stuido, restarted the computer and still am unable to edit the files.  Any ideas?
