Use the css3 [`resize`](http://www.css3.info/preview/resize/) property.

There is also a `resize: horizontal` and `resize: vertical`.

You can do this using CSS3. You can create a user resizable `div` tag by setting the resize and overflow styles.
I have set resize to both horizontal and vertical here:

Browsers allow text-areas to be re-sized by dragging their corner by default. I was wondering if this rule could be applied to other elements (a div for instance). I know this effect could be achieved using the jQuery `draggable` or the jQuery-ui `resizable` function, but I would like to do it with plain html / css if it is possible to avoid relying on that library. Are their any CSS rules that I could apply to a div to make it behave in this way?

If you have any other solution I would like to hear it.

Is there a Webkit-specific CSS style that will allow me to control the color/size/style of the box around the color in an `input[type=color]`?  

I&#39;m setting the color and background color of the input already so it looks good with a cross-compatibility polyfill I&#39;m using for older Chrome and Firefox.  

Now that Chrome actually has a *color picker*, there&#39;s a box around the color which leaves a `1px` grey box floating in the middle of the input when both color and background color of the input are set to the same color. 

Is there some CSS to get rid of it, either by setting that box&#39;s width to 0, changing the style to `none`, or, at worst, setting the color to the same as the color and background color?

I&#39;ve found one workaround, which is to set a high enough padding that the box (the grey border and green contents) is squished to size 0.  But that&#39;s really hacky, and doesn&#39;t look very good over in Firefox.

I have an oninput event on a textarea to check the height and resize it. Now I need to edit the value sometimes. I do this just by editting the val() in jQuery, but that does not trigger the oninput event. Is there any way to trigger the oninput event programatically with jQuery?

The following code alerts `ls exist` in IE7:

IE7 doesn&#39;t really support local storage but this still alerts it does. Perhaps this is because I am using IE9 in IE7 browser and document modes using the IE9 developer tool. Or maybe this is just the wrong way to test if LS is supported. What is the right way?

Also I don&#39;t want to use Modernizr since I am using only a few HTML5 features and loading a large script isn&#39;t worth it just to detect support for those few things.

How can I make space between two buttons in same div?

I have been trying to work on creating a tree (like a directory tree) that uses as much CSS and as little JS as possible (only for states, etc), and I want to know if there are some good existing tree plugins for [bootstrap][1] or [jquery-ui bootstrap][2].

I have created a custom style sheet that overrides the original CSS for my Wordpress template. However, on my calendar page, the original CSS has the height of each table cell set with the `!important` declaration:

    td {height: 100px !important}

Is there some way I can override this?

I&#39;m trying to turn off textarea resizing in my site; right now I&#39;m using this method:

I have a little issue related to when I place a text loaded via ajax call.

   I take the contect from a textarea and store it in my database and when I want to show the text in a div, it doesn&#39;t respect the new lines, so all the text is continuous.

Just starting to play around with bootstrap and it&#39;s amazing. 

I&#39;m trying to figure this out. I have a textarea for feedback inside a modal window. It works great. But I want the focus to go on the textarea when you click on the button to activate the modal. And I can&#39;t seem to get it working.
