You can also check if the password is correct without attempting to change the password. I did it by listing the properties of the keystore with this command:

    keytool -list -keystore &lt;keystorefile&gt; -storepass &lt;passwordtocheck&gt;


You can do it a couple of ways:

A. With `keytool`

  If you run the command `keytool -keypasswd -keystore &lt;keystore&gt; -alias &lt;alias&gt; -storepass &lt;storepass&gt; -keypass &lt;keypass&gt; -new &lt;keypass&gt;` then you will get the error `Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect` if the keystore password is wrong, or the error `Cannot recover key` if the alias password is wrong. Unfortunately the return code is 1 in both cases, so you will need to do parsing of the program&#39;s output if you want to be smart about the type of error.

B. With a small Java program

Something along these lines:


    KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance(KeyStore.getDefaultType());
    
    try (FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(keystore)) {
        ks.load(fis, ksPw.toCharArray());
    }
    
    ks.getEntry(alias, new KeyStore.PasswordProtection(aliasPw.toCharArray()));

will fail at line 4 with a `java.io.IOException` if the key store password is wrong, or with a `java.security.UnrecoverableKeyException` at line 7 if the alias password is wrong.




I am not getting the `@Inherited` annotation in Java. If it automatically inherits the methods for you then if I need to implement the method in my own way then what about that ?

How does will it come to know my way of implementation ?

Plus it is said if I do not want to use this and do it rather in an old fashioned Java way I have to implement the the `equals()`, `toString()`, and the `hashCode()` methods of the `Object` class and also the annotation type method of the `java.lang.annotation.Annotation` class.

Why is that?

I have never implemented those even when I did not know about the `@Inherited` annotation and the programs used to work fine also .

Please somebody explain me from the scratch about this.

Any ideas? Also, I need to check it without a jar file to sign - getting that file in my context is lengthy, so I want to abort sooner rather than later.

I am using Picasso to display image in my android app:

I have enable debugging and it always shows either red and green .But never shows yellow

Now if i load same image next time and internet is not available the image is not loaded.

Questions:

1. Does it not have local disk cache?
2. How do i enable disk caching as i will be using same image multiple times.
3. Do i need to add some disk permission to android manifest file?

The run configurations in Android Studio only let you deploy the default (debugging) APK, but I have built a release APK by running gradle assembleDebug from within Android Studio (as an external tool) and would like to deploy that instead. But it doesn&#39;t seem like you can change the APK which Android Studio installs. There is an option to deploy a custom artifact, but I&#39;m not sure what that is, or if it would help, and anyway, there doesn&#39;t seem to be an option to create a new artifact in the Android Studio Project Structure dialog.

Does anyone know how I can specify the path of the APK which Android Studio deploys? I know I can install from the command line with adb, but it would speed things up if I could just click a button. Thanks.

Android studio - deploy the release apk instead of debug

I am developing an App where I decode a video and replace certain frames and re-encode using `MediaMuxer` and `MediaCodec`. The App works if I do not replace any frames (except for 1080p videos as I explain below), but when I do, the frames after the replaced ones are pixelated and the video is choppy.

Also, when I try my app with 1920x1080 videos, I get a strange output, where the video is not showing anything, until I scroll to the beginning of the video, then the video starts showing up (but with the same problem mentioned before of pixalation after the edit.

Here is how I configure my encoder:

Encoding and muxing video using MediaCodec and MediaMuxer

I implemented the new `SwipeRefreshLayout` component in my application and it works well with any vertical views, like `ListView`, `GridView` and `ScrollView`.

It behaves very bad with horizontal views, like `HorizontalScrollView`.
When scrolling to the right or left, the `SwipeRefreshLayout` view caches the touch, prevents the `HorizontalScrollView` from receiving it and starts scrolling vertically to perform the refresh.

I tried solving this issue as I previously solved issues with vertical `ScrollView` with `ViewPager` inside, using `requestDisallowInterceptTouchEvent` but it didn&#39;t work. I also noticed that this method is overridden in the original `SwipeRefreshLayout` class without returning the super. Google&#39;s developer left a comment instead &quot;`//Nope.`&quot; :)

Because `SwipeRefreshLayout` component is relatively new, I couldn&#39;t find a solution that fixes the horizontal scroll issue while still allowing the swipe to refresh view to track and handle vertical scrolling so I thought I&#39;ll share my solution with hopes it will spare someone an hour or two.

How to make DialogFragment width to Fill_Parent

Using some batch file, I want to add the untrusted self signed certificate within Java Keystore.

**Command is**

    %JAVA_HOME%/bin/keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias server-alias
    -file server.cer -keystore cacerts.jks -keypass changeit -storepass changeit

After running above command, the screen promts for Trust of certificate using Y/N.

    Trust this certificate? [no]:

But I don&#39;t want to provide Y/N here.

Is there a way to complete the import using a single command or some additional import switch if any?


Add Self Signed Certificate without promting Yes/No from User

I&#39;m trying to make sense of how to upload an app onto Google Play while using Google Play App Signing.

Here is what I did:

 1. Created an app
 2. Used keytool.exe to generate a key for that app
 3. Uploaded the app to Google Play
 4. Enrolled in the Google Play App Signing
 5. Try to upload the app again without success. 

It complains that the certificate is not the certificate

&gt; You uploaded an APK that is not signed with the upload certificate. You must use the same certificate. The upload certificate has fingerprint:

After searching for a while. I find out how to put the certificated posted on my Google Play console in my keystore. Something like this:
