Like you I also faced many problems implementing OCR in Android, but after much Googling I found the solution, and it surely is the best example of OCR. 

Let me explain using step-by-step guidance.

First, download the source code from https://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two.

Import all three projects. After importing you will get an error.
To solve the error you have to create a `res` folder in the tess-two project

First, just create **res** folder in tess-two by tess-two-&gt;RightClick-&gt;new Folder-&gt;Name it &quot;res&quot;

After doing this in all three project the error should be gone. 

Now download the source code from https://github.com/rmtheis/android-ocr, here you will get best example. 

Now you just need to import it into your workspace, but first you have to download android-ndk from this site:

http://developer.android.com/tools/sdk/ndk/index.html i have windows 7 - 32 bit PC so I have download http://dl.google.com/android/ndk/android-ndk-r9-windows-x86.zip this file

Now extract it suppose I have extract it into **E:\Software\android-ndk-r9** so I will set this path on Environment Variable 

Right Click on **MyComputer-&gt;Property-&gt;Advance-System-Settings-&gt;Advance-&gt;Environment Variable-&gt;** find **PATH** on second below Box and set like path like below picture

Now open cmd and go to on D:\Android Workspace\tess-two

If you have successfully set up environment variable of NDK then just type **ndk-build** just like above picture than enter you will not get any kind of error and all file will be compiled successfully:

Now download other source code also from https://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two , and extract and import it and give it name OCRTest, like in my PC which is in **D:\Android Workspace\OCRTest**

Import test-two in this and run OCRTest and run it; you will get the best example of OCR.

I was converting my projects from VS2010 to VS2012.But I am getting an _MSC_VER linker error in certain projects. After a long surfing through google I found out that the issue is due to linking of a library created in VS2010 to VS2012.

How can I find out that which projectis causing the error?

If I delete the 3.1G journal file, `sudo service mongodb restart` will fail. However, this file is taking too much space. How can I solve this problem? How can I remove it?

in my app,  i want two things to happen.

1. when i touch and drag the ImageButton, it should move along with my finger.

   i used `OnTouchListener()` for this and it works fine.

2. when i click the ImageButton, it should close the activity.

   i used `OnClickListener()` for this and it also works fine.  

So, here is my problem. whenever i move the `ImageButton` `OnTouchListener` is tirggered and the `ImageButton` moves, the `OnClickListener` is also triggered at the end when i am releasing the button from moving.

I&#39;ve developed a simple demo application with a splash screen a map and some regular screens.

I have an action bar at the top that contains a logo. It all looks fine on my phone (Galaxy s1 I9000 V2.3) but when i test it on Galaxy s2 v4 the action bar appears also in the splash screen and in the map screen.

The spalsh and map activity are not even inheriting from ActionBarActivity so how is that possible and how can i make it go away?

Android: how to hide ActionBar on certain activities

Hopefully someone can help me figure out, if not a solution, at least an explanation for a behaviour.

**The Problem:**

*On some devices, pressing the launcher icon results in the current task being resumed, on others it results in the initial launch intent being fired (effectively restarting the app). Why does this happen?* 

**The Detail:**

When you press the &quot;Launcher Icon&quot; the app starts normally - That is, I assume, an Intent is launched with the name of your first `Activity` with the action `android.intent.action.MAIN` and the category `android.intent.category.LAUNCHER`. This can&#39;t always be the case however:

On the majority of devices, if you press the launcher icon after the app is already running, the currently running Activity in that process is resumed (**NOT** the initial `Activity`). It resumes in the same way as if you had selected it from the &quot;Recent Tasks&quot; in the OS menu. This is the behaviour I want on *all* devices.

However, on selected other devices different behaviour occurs:

* On the Motorola Xoom, when you press the launcher icon, the App will *always* start the initial launch `Activity` regardless of what is currently running. I assume that the launcher icons always start the &quot;LAUNCHER&quot; intent.

* On the Samsung Tab 2, when you press the launcher icon, if you have just installed the app, it will always launch the initial `Activity` (Same as the Xoom) - however, after you restart the device after the install, the launcher icon will instead resume the app. I assume that these devices add &quot;installed apps&quot; into a lookup table on device startup which allow the launcher icons to correctly resume running tasks?

I&#39;ve read many answer that *sound* similar to my problem  but simply adding `android:alwaysRetainTaskState=&quot;true&quot;` or using `launchMode=&quot;singleTop&quot;` to the `Activity` are not the answer.

**Edit:**

After the most recent launch of this app, we find that this behaviour has begun to occur on *all* devices after the first restart. Which seems crazy to me but looking through the restart process, I can&#39;t actually find what&#39;s going wrong.

App restarts rather than resumes

So I have a `byte [] array` which I have created in my android app. I want to use SharedPreferences from android to store it and retrieve it back again when I start my app. 
How can I do that ?

If my app is running and i press home button, the app goes in background. Now if I long press the home button and kill the app by swiping it from the recent app list, none of the events like `onPause()`, `onStop()` or `onDestroy()` gets called rather the process is terminated. So if i want my services to stop, kill notifications and unregister listeners, how can i do that? I read quite a few articles and blogs but didn&#39;t get any useful information and I haven&#39;t found any documentation about it.

It looks like they can detect characters, but I don&#39;t see a means to do anything with the characters. Once you&#39;ve got characters detected, how would you go about turning them into something that can be interpreted by [`NSLinguisticTagger`](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/nslinguistictagger)?

Converting a Vision VNTextObservation to a String

I am having some problems with pytesseract. I need to configure Tesseract to that it is configured to accept single digits while also only being able to accept numbers as the number zero is often confused with an &#39;O&#39;.
