Are you running your site from Visual Studio&#39;s built-in web server? Apparently, you don&#39;t have much control over the MIME types in that environment (see [this][1]). I was seeing the same behavior and was starting to stress about it before finally realizing that I wasn&#39;t even looking at the IIS-hosted application.

Assuming we have a polygon coordinates as polygon = [(x1, y1), (x2, y2), ...], the following code displays the polygon:

    import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
    plt.fill(*zip(*polygon))

By default it is trying to adjust the aspect ratio so that the polygon (or whatever other diagram) fits inside the window, and automatically changing it so that it fits even after resizing. Which is great in many cases, except when you are trying to estimate visually if the image is distorted. How to fix the aspect ratio to be strictly 1:1? 

(Not sure if &quot;aspect ratio&quot; is the right term here, so in case it is not - I need both X and Y axes to have 1:1 scale, so that (0, 1) on both X and Y takes an exact same amount of screen space. And I need to keep it 1:1 no matter how I resize the window.)

I have seen references online that state that &#39;Scheduled Tasks&#39; in Windows are stored in `%SystemRoot%\Tasks`, which I think usually equates to `C:\Windows\Tasks`.

However, I observe that while that folder exists on my Windows 7 system, Scheduled tasks doesn&#39;t use it. 

My system appears to use, `C:\Windows\System32\Tasks`.

I have studied the Environment variables and there doesn&#39;t seem to be anything related to `Scheduled Tasks` there.

How do I discover which folder is used for Scheduled tasks?

While I do not see any functionally or jquery UI elements affected by this, but when I access my asp.net mvc web page the chrome developer console is logged with a bunch of error messages like so:

&gt; Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type application/octet-stream.

All of the warnings are for jquery UI images (though I don&#39;t have any custom images on there so I don&#39;t know if it&#39;s jquery UI only).  All the jquery images still load correctly.

Does anyone have any insight on why this is happening?

I&#39;ve been trying to create a controller in my project for delivering what could turn out to be quite complex reports. As a result they can take a relatively long time and a progress bar would certainly help users to know that things are progressing. The report will be kicked off via an AJAX request, with the idea being that periodic JSON requests will get the status and update the progress bar.

I&#39;ve been experimenting with the AsyncController as that seems to be a nice way of running long processes without tying up resources, but it doesn&#39;t appear to give me any way of checking on the progress (and seems to block further JSON requests and I haven&#39;t discovered why yet). After that I&#39;ve tried resorting to storing progress in a static variable on the controller and reading the status from that - but to be honest that all seems a bit hacky!

I want to get the extension of the file to dynamically generate the name of the file.One way i will use to split the type. but can i use HttpPostedFileBase object to get the extension in the clean way?

I have an action that takes in a string that is used to retrieve some data. If this string results in no data being returned (maybe because it has been deleted), I want to return a 404 and display an error page. 

I currently just use return a special view that display a friendly error message specific to this action saying that the item was not found. This works fine, but would ideally like to return a 404 status code so search engines know that this content no longer exists and can remove it from the search results.

What is the best way to go about this?

Is it as simple as setting Response.StatusCode = 404?

If you have viewmodels for your views, is the service layer the appropriate place to provide each viewmodel?  For instance, in the service layer code sample there is a method

If instead you wanted a IEnumerable&lt;ContactViewModel&gt;, should it go in the service layer, or is there somewhere else that is the &quot;correct&quot; place?  

Perhaps more appropriately, if you have a separate viewmodel for each view associated with ContactController, should ContactManagerService have a separate method to return each viewmodel?  If the service layer is not the proper place, where should viewmodel objects be initialized for use by the controller?

As far as I know, they are absolute equal. However, browsing some django docs, I&#39;ve

which surprise me the two getting along each other. The official docs was able to solve the issue in a pratical manner:

In Firebug, the DOM tab shows a list of all your public variables and objects. In Chrome&#39;s console you have to type the name of the public variable or object you want to explore.
