I found a solution for my problem while writing my question !

Going into my remote session i tried two key combinations, and it solved the problem on my Desktop : &lt;kbd&gt;Alt&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;Enter&lt;/kbd&gt; and &lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;Enter&lt;/kbd&gt; (i don&#39;t know which one solved the problem though)

I tried to reproduce the problem, but i couldn&#39;t... but i&#39;m almost sure it&#39;s one of the key combinations described in the question above (since i experienced this problem several times)

So it seems the problem comes from the use of RDP (windows7 and 8)

**Update 2017**: Problem occurs on Windows 10 aswell.

I am trying to dynamically create a `class` instance based type using generics, however I am encountering difficulty with class introspection.

Here are the questions:

 - Is there a Swift-equivalent to Obj-C&#39;s `self.class`?
 - Is there a way to instantiate a class using the `AnyClass` result from `NSClassFromString`?
 - Is there a way to get `AnyClass` or otherwise type information strictly from a generic parameter `T`? (Similar to C#&#39;s `typeof(T)` syntax)


Swift class introspection &amp; generics

I&#39;m working in a small team, building in AngularJS and trying to maintain some basic standards &amp; best practices; especially given we&#39;re relatively new with Angular.

My question is with regards to Directives. More accurately, the `restrict` options.

Some of us are using `restrict: &#39;E&#39;` thus having `&lt;my-directive&gt;&lt;/my-directive&gt;` in the html.

Others are using `restrict: &#39;A&#39;` and having `&lt;div my-directive&gt;&lt;/div&gt;` in the html.

Then, of course, you can use `restrict: &#39;EA&#39;` and use either of the above. 

At the moment it&#39;s no big deal, though when this project is as big as it&#39;s going to get I would like anybody looking at it to easily understand what&#39;s going on.

Are there pros/cons to either the attribute or element way of doing things? 

Are there any pitfalls we should know, if choosing say element over attribute?



AngularJS Directive Restrict A vs E

I encountered this problem several times. I want to use a character accessible using the &lt;kbd&gt;AltGr&lt;/kbd&gt; Key but for some reason it doesn&#39;t work. As if I didn&#39;t press the &lt;kbd&gt;AltGr&lt;/kbd&gt; key.

Usually I experience this in remote Desktop but not on my local machine. I am attempting to create a Windows Batch File that creates a .txt with mulitple lines. I&#39;ve tried several solutions to insert a line break in the string but no avail. There are other similar questions/answers but none of them address putting the entire string into a text file.

My batch file currently reads:

    echo Here is my first line
    Here is my second line &gt; myNewTextFile.txt
    pause
my goal is to have the text file read:

    Here is my first line
    Here is my second line

Obviously, this does not work currently, but wondering if anyone knows how to make this happen in a simple fashion?

&#39;pip&#39; is not recognized as an internal or external command

I have Windows 7 and tried to use the &#39;make&#39; command but &#39;make&#39; is not recognized as an internal or external command.

I did `Start -&gt; cmd -&gt; run -&gt; make`, which outputs:
         
&gt;&#39;make&#39; is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.

Then I typed &#39;mingw32-make&#39; instead of &#39;make&#39; (`Start -&gt; cmd -&gt; run -&gt; mingw32-make`) and I get the same output:

What shall I do next in order to fix this problem?

I am using Git on Windows. I installed the msysGit package. My test repository has a self signed certificate at the server. I can access and use the repository using HTTP without problems. Moving to HTTPS gives the error:

&gt; SSL Certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate.  

I have the self signed certificate installed in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities of my Windows 7 - client machine. I can browse to the HTTPS repository URL in Internet Explorer with no error messages.

[This blog post by Philip Kelley][1] explained that cURL does not use the client machine&#39;s certificate store. I followed the blog post&#39;s advice to create a private copy of `curl-ca-bundle.crt` and configure Git to use it. I am sure Git is using my copy. If I rename the copy; Git complains the file is missing.

I pasted in my certificate, as mentioned in the blog post, I still get the message &quot;unable to get local issuer certificate&quot;.

I verified that Git was still working by cloning a GitHub Repository via HTTPS.

The only thing I see that&#39;s different to the blog post is that my certificate *is* the root - there is no chain to reach it. My certificate originally came from clicking the IIS8 IIS Manager link &#39;Create Self Signed Certificate&#39;. Maybe that makes a certificate different in some way to what cURL expects.

How can I get Git/cURL to accept the self signed certificate?

Unable to resolve &quot;unable to get local issuer certificate&quot; using git on Windows with self-signed certificate

I&#39;ve installed gulp both globally and locally using 

    npm install gulp
    npm install gulp -g
    npm install gulp-util
    npm install gulp-util -g

When try to run gulp i get 

`&#39;gulp&#39; is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.`

Running npm list gulp (or -g), I `gulp@3.7.0` with the location of either my global or local gulp installation.

I&#39;ve tried running `node gulpfile.js` pointed to my gulpfile, and it runs without error, and of course, it starts with `require(&#39;gulp&#39;)`. 

Any suggestions on getting gulp working on Windows(8.1)?

There is probably a very easy solution to this but I&#39;m not sure what it is. Delete cell command in IPython 1.2 used to be:
 
    ctrl-m d

according to the help menu in version 2.0 it says,

    Shift-d: delete cell(press twice) 

I&#39;ve tried holding `shift` then pressing `d` twice and various combinations with `shift` and `d` and nothing seems to work.. Am I just doing this wrong or the command is actually not working? Any help would be appreciated.

I&#39;m on a Mac. I have 7 columns in Sublime Text 3, each 300 lines each. If possible, I would like to select only the 4th column using a single keyboard shortcut. 

*Unsuitable options*

- `ctrl` + `shift` + `up/down`
- `alt` + `mouse` + `drag`
- `ctrl` + `alt` + `up/down`. (This actually doesn&#39;t do anything, nor does it appear in my console session and nor is it a single keyboard shortcut).
- I&#39;d also prefer not to use VI/VIM mode just for this as it&#39;s not regular part of my workflow

*What I&#39;ve tried:*

- A macro: but it isn&#39;t specific enough. 
- using `command` and &#39;page down&#39; with `ctrl` and &#39;shift`: no luck
- SublimeText 3 Column-Select plugin: did not seem to work for me

My ideal solution would be that my cursor could be placed anywhere in a column and I would hit a shortcut (e.g. ctrl-alt-shift-a) and it would select the whole column. 

Here is an example:
