[`List&lt;T&gt;.Add`][1] adds a single element.  Instead, use [`List&lt;T&gt;.AddRange`][2] to add multiple values.

Additionally, `List&lt;T&gt;.AddRange` takes an `IEnumerable&lt;T&gt;`, so you don&#39;t need to convert `tripDetails` into a `List&lt;TripDetails&gt;`, you can pass it directly, e.g.:

    tripDetailsCollection.AddRange(tripDetails);

I have an `IEnumerable&lt;TravelDetails&gt;` and I am trying to add the vales in the `for`-loop to a `List&lt;TravelDetails&gt;`. I keep getting the errors.

I would like to know a simple algorithm to check if the given instance of `datetime` lies between another two instances in `C#`.

**Note:**

I skimmed though this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2634127/how-do-i-check-if-a-given-datetime-object-is-between-two-datetimes and it was for python and many more for php. Most of the other questions were regarding difference between the two.

**Details:**

I am more specific about the time, date does not matter to me. For example i got `DataBase` entry for a staff who works between `10:00` Am - `9:00` Pm and I would like to know which staff is engaged in class at the given time like `2:00 Pm`. Now this would return me the staff&#39;s details who are engaged at this time.

After accepting the answer(been more than year back), i realized i had incorrectly described the problem. But all i think that was to be done back then was to do date and time comparison. So answers by both Jason and VikciaR work.

i was reading about WCF security implementations and found out that there are 2 types of security:
    `Transport Mode and Message Mode (or both)`

If i used HTTPS for Transport Mode, is it more secured if i used Message security also? i am asking this because what i understand is as follows:

https uses SSL protocol which encrypts messages... so why should i add Message Security and encrypt the SSL encrypted message? or am i misunderstanding stuff?

To throw exceptions, I usually use built-in exception classes, e.g. `ArgumentNullException` and `NotSupportedException`. However, sometimes I need to use a custom exception and in that case I write:

    class SlippedOnABananaException : Exception { }
    class ChokedOnAnAppleException : Exception { }

and so on. Then I throw and catch these in my code. But today I came across the `ApplicationException` class - should I be using that instead? What&#39;s it for?

It does seem inefficient to have lots of effectively identical Exception classes with different names (I don&#39;t usually need any individual functionality). But I dislike the idea of catching a generic `ApplicationException` and having to use extra code to determine what the error was.

I have created a class Person that looks like this:

Of course the `???`s in the code won&#39;t work :) The problem is that I want to create a `genderConverter` converter which will compare the given value, i.e. `personObject.Gender`, against the given `Person.GenderType` value provided in the parameter and return `true` if the values match. 

I don&#39;t know how to make the converter parameter pass `Person.GenderType.Female`, `Person.GenderType.Male` and `null`, for the first, second and third radio button, respectively.

 How to pass specific value to the converter parameter?

I am using the entity framework (ef) and am getting the following error:

I have a repository class which contains the ef data context. I then have a controller class (not to be confused with MVC controllers) which contains an instance of the repository. So far so good... I have a search method on the controller which is supposed to return an array of `RadComboBoxItemData`, which is used to populate a Telerik RadComboBox control.

My entity uses a function import of an existing stored proc.

The function import `Search` calls a stored precedure to return a collection of `SearchItem`.

I have a feeling that the foreach loop can&#39;t iterate because of something with the ef.

When I want to do something with a list I first check it if is not `null` or contains no elements (not to blow a `foreach`) and I usually use `list.Any()` but what is the best option - to use `list.Count &gt; 0` , or to use `list.Any()`?

I&#39;m migrating some stuff from one mysql server to a sql server but i can&#39;t figure out how to make this code work:

When it enters into the second `foreach (var page in pages)` it throws an exception saying:

&gt; LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method &#39;System.String
&gt; ToString()&#39; method, and this method cannot be translated into a store
&gt; expression.

Anyone know why this happens?
