Wireless debugging was recently added as a feature in Xcode 9, iOS 11, and tvOS 11. Apple TV 4K doesn&#39;t have a USB port, so it requires wireless debugging. How do you perform this wireless debugging in Xcode?

Safe Area of Xcode 9

This morning, Xcode 9.0 (9A235) shows a new/strange Auto Complete box that is not at all what it used to be.  How do I get the full auto-complete box so that autocomplete looks like how it usually does?

Xcode 9 Autocomplete Not Working 100% - Partially Working

The iPad-simulator is really small (like one third the size of the real `iPad` screen) on my 23&quot; Full-HD screen (and also on the `15&quot; MacBook Pro`).
 
Is there a way to resize it?

I know it must maintain size and dpi-ratio to prevent sub-pixels, but I can hardly see anything withoout a magnifier.

Running my App in the iPhone X Simulator (GM Seed) I am noticing two strange effects:

- the App does not use the full screen space (top and bottom area is black)
- a strange white bar beneath the title bar

Seeing black bars at the top and bottom of the iPhone X Simulator

I&#39;ve recently updated xcode to version 9. Before that in Xcode 8.x whenever I use to do `pod update` it shows me an update code to convert the code to Swift 3 and doing that solve the errors. But now it is giving me this error:

&gt; The “Swift Language Version” (SWIFT_VERSION) build setting must be set
&gt; to a supported value for targets which use Swift. This setting can be
&gt; set in the build settings editor.

For this error I&#39;ve tried `Build Settings &gt; Swift Language Version` and it was Swift 3.2
But as the update call has re-installed some of the pods like Alamofire and it says to install Xcode 8.x to convert the code to Swift 3 so do I need to install an additional version with the latest Xcode? If yes, then how can I install Xcode 8 with Xcode 9?

I&#39;m struggling to release a new version of our app using Xcode 9 built with iOS 11 SDK. Archiving and uploading the binary goes well without any issue. The build appears in iTunes Connect under Activity as &#39;processing&#39; and it gets disappear and I get the following email back.

The link gives some info about asset bundles. I tried setting a CFBundleIconName key to project name or an image file name and submitted the app again. However, I still get the same email as above. 

Any suggestion of help would be highly appreciated.

Xcode can only refactor C and Objective-C code. How to rename swift class name in Xcode 6?

I am leasing a self signed certificate using `NSMutableURLRequest` and when the certificate is anchored using a custom certificate with `SecTrustSetAnchorCertificates` `IOS 11` fails with the following error message:

What used to work for `IOS 10` no longer works in `IOS 11`. 

I am aware that `IOS 11` no longer supports the following:

- RC4 3DES-CBC AES-CBC
- MD5 SHA-1
- &lt;2048-bit RSA Pub Keys - All TLS connections to servers
- http:// 
- SSLv3 
- TLS 1.0 
- TLS 1.1

And the certificate does not use these except for one fingerprint, which is `SHA-1`, but a `SHA-256` fingerprint is also listed.


And by adding the following we can bypass the ATS (App Transport Security) error:

By installing the root / anchor certificate onto the phone itself also works without the need to whitelist the mydomain.com.

Does this mean that ATS no longer supports self-signed certificates?

The following worked in `IOS 10`:

    SecTrustSetAnchorCertificates(serverTrust, (__bridge CFArrayRef)certs);

Using `nscurl` on a Mac shows many failures, and after installing the root certificate into the &quot;System&quot; Keystore, `nscurl` succeeds.
I did this on `macOS 10.12.6`.    

    nscurl --verbose --ats-diagnostics https://


How can I make this work with a custom certificate, but without the need to install certificates or whitelist the domain?




iOS 11: ATS (App Transport Security) no longer accepts custom anchor certs?

However I have recompiled the framework using the same Xcode and it still gives me this error.

- Base SDK iOS 11.1 for both  
- Swift Language Version Swift 4.0 for both
- Not using Pods/Carthage

I started adapting my app for iPhone X and found an issue in Interface Builder.
The safe area layout guides are supposed to be backwards compatible, according to official Apple videos. I found that it works just fine in storyboards.
 
But in my XIB files, the safe area layout guides are not respected in iOS 10.

They work fine for the new OS version, but the iOS 10 devices seem to simply assume the safe area distance as zero (ignoring the status bar size).
 
Am I missing any required configuration? Is it an Xcode bug, and if so, any known workarounds?

I&#39;ve been facing an issue (frequently) with the recent major release of the iOS application development tool - Xcode 9-beta.

It&#39;s showing me the following error frequently while running/debugging app in Simulator (iOS 11).

&gt; **Could not attach to pid : “2370”**
&gt; &lt;br&gt;Ensure &lt;*project title*&gt; is not already running, and &lt;*system username*&gt; has permission to debug it.

I’ve been working on an app for a client using my own Apple Developer account so far while waiting for them to register a Developer account themselves.

They have done this— and the time has come for them to be able to build and run the project on their machine, but they’re getting this error:

`Code Signing Error: No account for team &quot;59xxxxxxxx&quot;. Add a new account in the Accounts preference pane or verify that your accounts have valid credentials.
Code Signing Error: No signing certificate &quot;iOS Development&quot; found:  No &quot;iOS Development&quot; signing certificate matching team ID &quot;59xxxxxxxx&quot; with a private key was found.`


The team ID in the error message is mine, what I’ve been using to build the project on my computers.

Their account has already been set in their Xcode&#39;s preferences pane, and I have been added as a member to that team. 

I have worked on other projects with other developers where we could build the project simply by selecting our respective Team in the drop-down menu within the Signing section of the General project settings. For some reason when my client selects their team and tries to build the project it still produces this error. 

Does anyone know what we&#39;re doing wrong?

Code Signing &quot;No account for team&quot; message when signing for different developer account

I recently update my Xcode to version 9.3, so is instruments. After that, time profiler won&#39;t work anymore, it usually works fine before.

I tried to run it via Xcode, and I tried to run it manually. Doesn&#39;t work.
The life cycle row stuck in initializing, and I got a bunch of warnings complain about **the data volume is too high for a recording mode of &quot;immediate&quot; and some data had to be dropped to move forward**. 

Then I switch to delay mode, still got nothing. Then I create a simple new project, which should have &quot;little data volume&quot;, still got nothing.

I checked help, I googled, seems like no one has encountered this before. Does anyone have any clue about this?

Time profiler in instruments is not working

After installing Xcode 9 beta, Xcode 8 gives me an error when compiling a project:
 
&gt;Cannot find cdtool at &#39;/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/Library/Xcode/Agents/cdtool&#39;: Cannot find a simulator runtime for platform `&lt;DVTPlatform:0x7fd67af0a930:&#39;com.apple.platform.iphonesimulator&#39;:&lt;DVTFilePath:0x7fd67af0a7c0:&#39;/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform&#39;&gt;&gt;`.
 
I suspect Xcode 9 modified some shared state with Xcode 8 (set a path, overwrote a file, etc.). But I&#39;ve tried deleting and both Xcodes to no avail.
 
The project uses Core Data and it&#39;s clearly failing when trying to compile the xcdatamodel.
 
I can still compile and run under Xcode 9.


Xcode 9 Bug: Cannot find cdtool

Codable seems a very exciting feature. But I wonder how we can use it in Core Data? In particular, is it possible to directly encode/decode a JSON from/to a NSManagedObject?

I tried a very simple example:

and the target file was the file that defined `Foo`

I guess I probably did it wrong, since I didn&#39;t even pass a `NSManagedObjectContext`, but I have no idea where to stick it.

Does Core Data support `Codable`?
