How to delete a workspace in Eclipse?

How do we create a workspace in Visual Studio Code?

I see *File* menu commands to open, add a folder to and save a workspace, but nothing to create one.

How to create a workspace

I would like Jenkins&#39; data to be written to drive &quot;E:&quot; since this is the large drive on the server. Jenkins itself is installed on &quot;C:&quot;.  

How do I do that?

The default configuration that I saw is:

I started to notice my WD drive getting full and ran a size:gigantic file search on it.  It has turned up several files here:

`F:\SCOTT-SHARED-DESKTOP\My Documents\JPA_SPRING_STRUTS\.metadata\.plugins\org.maven.ide.eclipse\nexus\d9d714e11cb097b3ffcec91cccc65d3e_58.cfs`

that exceed 189,992 KB (189 MB)!

Anyone know about these rascals?

What are the gigantic *.CFS files all about in Eclipse workspace plugin folder?

I renamed my computer name, and now my TFS workspace is broken in Visual Studio 2012.

When I type:

    tf workspaces /computer:ABOTONJIC-PC /owner:* /format:detailed
&lt;!

    Workspace  : ABOTONJIC-PC
    Owner      : wrongowner@test.com
    Computer   : ABOTONJIC-PC
    Comment    :

But I need to have :

    Owner      : realowner@test.com
    Computer   : NEW-PC

Then I try:

    tf workspaces /updateComputerName:ABOTONJIC-PC /collection:netuse.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection

    No workspace matching *;wrongowner@test.com on computer NEW-PC found in Team Foundation Server netuse.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection.


So my question are :

1. How to update computer name in my workspace?
2. Why TFS still shows &quot;wrongowner@test.com&quot; in workspace although there is new email registered as &quot;realowner@test.com&quot;?

I&#39;m trying to create a workspace in the `/Users/Shared/` directory with the thought that I can share that workspace between users. The problem is that after I create the workspace and change the permission on it, I encounter the error below (image) **without even switching to a different user.**

I changed the permissions from

... to...

    /Users/Shared $ ll

So what am I doing wrong here? How should I configure this workspace so that I can 1. get rid of the error message and 2. access it from both accounts without seeing the error message?

By the way, I&#39;m working on Mac OS X Lion v10.7.1.

Eclipse - &quot;Workspace in use or cannot be created, chose a different one.&quot;

We are running Jenkins 2.x and love the new Pipeline plugin.  However, with so many branches in a repository, disk space fills up quickly.  

Is there any plugin that&#39;s compatible with Pipeline that I can wipe out the workspace on a successful build?

I&#39;m new to Perforce and have created a few workspaces as exercises for getting familiar with it. Now I would like to delete some of the workspaces. I just want to get rid of the workspaces so that they do not appear on the drop-down in the workspaces view (*do not* want to do anything with actual depot files).

Googling up an answer yields the suggestion to &quot;make the workspace active&quot; (I guess that means select it in the workspace dropdown?) and then delete it from the &quot;edit&quot; menu. Unfortunately, the delete option is grayed-out when I try this.

Anyone know how to do this, or do I just have to live with junk workspaces? I&#39;ve physically deleted one of them from the disk, and it still appears in the workspace drop down, and I can&#39;t even synchronise it with the depot now, so I guess that&#39;s not how to do it.

I am speaking of the minimum use-case for a developer that uses different languages and protocols, **not** necessarily all of them in one project (E.g. Php, Javascript and XML for some projects, C# for others, Java and SQL for still others, etc..)

My System Administrator renamed my computer.  So where it was &quot;MyLaptop2&quot; it is now just &quot;MyLaptop&quot;.

So now all my source control bindings and checked out files are looking for a workspace with &quot;MyLaptop2&quot;.

I keep getting an error message in Eclipse when creating a new project.

I have created a workspace at the level

&gt; C:\Users\Martin\Java\Counter

Inside Counter there are no files but there is a directory called counter_src which contains source files for the project Counter

So in Eclipse I do, New Java Project, and then uncheck default location and choose the directory 

counter_src  (which is one level down from Counter)

but it now displays


&gt;  C:\Users\Martin\Java\Counter\counter_src overlaps the location of
&gt; another project: &#39;counter_src&#39;

Now if I create my workspace at 

&gt; C:\Users\Martin\Java\

which means my counter_src is actually 2 levels down then it allows me, but the problem is that the directory Java contains lots of projects so I wanted to create the workspace in Counter (which has no files) which has subdirectory of counter_src where my source files are.

Also tested creating directory in C:\Users\Martin\Java\ and it appears to work also but I didn&#39;t want to create another subdirectory in &quot;C:\Users\Martin\Java\&quot; just to store my workspace for 1 project.

I tried to load my R workspace and received this error:

    Error: bad restore file magic number (file may be corrupted) -- no data loaded
    In addition: Warning message:
    file ‘WORKSPACE_Wedding_Weekend_September’ has magic number &#39;#gets&#39;
       Use of save versions prior to 2 is deprecated 


I&#39;m not particularly interested in the technical details, but mostly in how I caused it and how I can prevent it in the future.  Here&#39;s some notes on the situation:

 1. I&#39;m running R 2.15.1 on a MacBook Pro running Windows XP on a bootcamp partition.
 2. There is something obviously wrong this workspace file, since it weighs in at only ~80kb while all my others are usually &gt;10,000
 3. Over the weekend I was running an external modeling program in R and storing its output to different objects.  I ran several iterations of the model over the course of several days, eg output_Saturday &lt;- call_model()
 4. There is nothing special to the model output, its just a list with slots for betas, VC-matrices, model specification, etc.

eclipse workspace: how to rename workspace

I just managed to corrupt contents of my Eclipse .metadata directory. Starting up with eclipse -clean did not work out. Deleting .metadata and then importing all projects, plugins and setting does not sound too interesting. I ended up moving .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/ elsewhere and reimporting my projects only.

Are there any tools or best practices to recover workspace?
