What is the difference between the remap, noremap, nnoremap and vnoremap mapping commands in Vim?

Some naming convention samples I have been considering:

Don&#39;t bother answering the &#39;why&#39; with &quot;because my work tells me to&quot;, not very helpful. The reason driving the choice is more important. Are there any other good considerations for a dictionary naming convention aside from readability?

Python Naming Conventions for Dictionaries/Maps/Hashes

To improve an older project I am forced by the circumstances to use VS 2008 and Framework 3.5 - I have issues with the edmx showing bizarre behavior and not updating the entities as required.

The edmx throws me the above error, but when I go to the respective table and right click it - &quot;Update Model from Database&quot; there is no change, the error is still there. 

If I delete the table from the diagram by selecting it and pressing del, then in the Model Browser It disappears from the .Database but when clicking &quot;Update model from Database&quot; I can&#39;t see i in the &quot;Add&quot; list, all I can do is &quot;Refresh&quot; the table since I still see it in the refresh list (which should not happen because I deleted it! )

I have been unable to find a simple way to just tell ElasticSearch to insert the _timestamp field for all the documents that are added in all the indices (and all document types). 

I see an example for specific types:

and also see an example for all indices for a specific type (using _all):

but I am unable to find any documentation on adding it by default for all documents that get added irrespective of the index and type.

I&#39;ve been looking everywhere: stackoverflow, automapper documentation, internets and just couldn&#39;t find any info on this one, even tho this seems to be a very common problem.

My mapping:

This doesn&#39;t work because src represents source object (StatusLevelDTO), not a source property (I think).

To be more specific, If I map ObjectA to ObjectB, ObjectA.SomeValue is null and ObjectB.SomeValue is 2, I want the destination object to keep its value (2).

Is there any way to make this happen in Automapper 6? I am using 6.0.2 to be exact.

**Situation**:

I have a persistable class with variable of java.util.Date type:

After then if I&#39;m trying to extract my object from DB, it is returned with variable startDate of Timestamp type - and all the places where I&#39;m trying to use equals(...) are returning false.

**Question**: are there any means to force Hibernate to return dates as object of java.util.Date type instead of Timestamp without explicit modification of every such variable (e.g it must be able just work, without explicit modification of existed variables of java.util.Date type)?


**NOTE:**

I found number of explicit solutions, where annotations are used or setter is modified - but I have many classes with Date-variables - so I need some centralized solution and all that described below is not good enough:

1. **Using annotation @Type:** - java.sql.Date will be returned
  
        @Column

2. **Using annotation @Temporal(TemporalType.DATE)** - java.sql.Date will be returned

Given `a_values` - 2D array - this is the bit of code that does the trick for me at the moment:

    for row in range(len(a_values)):
        for col in range(len(a_values[0])):
            a_values[row][col] = dim(a_values[row][col])

But it&#39;s so ugly that I suspect that somewhere within NumPy there must be a function that does the same with something looking like:

    a_values.map_in_place(dim)

but if something like the above exists, I&#39;ve been unable to find it.

I have a data structure which essentially amounts to a nested dictionary. Let&#39;s say it looks like this:

    
    {&#39;new jersey&#39;: {&#39;mercer county&#39;: {&#39;plumbers&#39;: 3,

                    &#39;middlesex county&#39;: {&#39;programmers&#39;: 81,

     &#39;new york&#39;: {&#39;queens county&#39;: {&#39;plumbers&#39;: 9,
                                    &#39;salesmen&#39;: 36}}}


Now, maintaining and creating this is pretty painful; every time I have a new state/county/profession I have to create the lower layer dictionaries via obnoxious try/catch blocks. Moreover, I have to create annoying nested iterators if I want to go over all the values. 

I could also use tuples as keys, like such:

    {(&#39;new jersey&#39;, &#39;mercer county&#39;, &#39;plumbers&#39;): 3,
     (&#39;new jersey&#39;, &#39;mercer county&#39;, &#39;programmers&#39;): 81,
     (&#39;new jersey&#39;, &#39;middlesex county&#39;, &#39;programmers&#39;): 81,
     (&#39;new jersey&#39;, &#39;middlesex county&#39;, &#39;salesmen&#39;): 62,
     (&#39;new york&#39;, &#39;queens county&#39;, &#39;plumbers&#39;): 9,
     (&#39;new york&#39;, &#39;queens county&#39;, &#39;salesmen&#39;): 36}

This makes iterating over the values very simple and natural, but it is more syntactically painful to do things like aggregations and looking at subsets of the dictionary (e.g. if I just want to go state-by-state).

Basically, sometimes I want to think of a nested dictionary as a flat dictionary, and sometimes I want to think of it indeed as a complex hierarchy. I could wrap this all in a class, but it seems like someone might have done this already. Alternatively, it seems like there might be some really elegant syntactical constructions to do this. 

How could I do this better?

Addendum: I&#39;m aware of `setdefault()` but it doesn&#39;t really make for clean syntax.  Also, each sub-dictionary you create still needs to have `setdefault()` manually set.

Using `map`, we have to deal with the `Exception` somehow. But how?:

I like the simplicity of the `map`, but the error handling of `flatmap` (not the verbosity). I haven&#39;t seen any best practices on this floating around and I&#39;m curious how this is being used in practice.

I have 2 CSV files: &#39;Data&#39; and &#39;Mapping&#39;:

 - &#39;Mapping&#39; file has 4 columns: `Device_Name`, `GDN`, `Device_Type`, and `Device_OS`. All four columns are populated.
 - &#39;Data&#39; file has these same columns, with `Device_Name` column populated and the other three columns blank. 
 - I want my Python code to open both files and for each `Device_Name` in the Data file, map its `GDN`, `Device_Type`, and `Device_OS` value from the Mapping file.

I know how to use dict when only 2 columns are present (1 is needed to be mapped) but I don&#39;t know how to accomplish this when 3 columns need to be mapped.

I receive a dictionary as input, and would like to to return a dictionary whose keys will be the input&#39;s values and whose value will be the corresponding input keys. Values are unique.

How do I exchange keys with values in a dictionary?

I have a `User` &lt; `Country` model. A user belongs to a country, but may not belong to any (null foreign key).

How do I set this up? When I try to insert a user with a null country, it tells me that it cannot be null.

I have a Java class `MyPojo` that I am interested in deserializing from JSON. I have configured a special MixIn class, `MyPojoDeMixIn`, to assist me with the deserialization. `MyPojo` has only `int` and `String` instance variables combined with proper getters and setters. `MyPojoDeMixIn` looks something like this:

I also looked online at [JacksonInFiveMinutes][1] but had a terrible time understanding the stuff about `Map&lt;A,B&gt;` and how it relates to my issue. If you cannot tell, I&#39;m entirely new to Java and come from an Obj-C background. They specifically mention:

I am trying to introduce a multi-key constraint on a JPA-mapped entity:

Basically (product, serial) pair should be unique, but I only found a way to say that serial should be unique.  This obviously isn&#39;t a good idea since different products might have same serial numbers.  

Is there a way to generate this constraint via JPA or am I forced to manually create it to DB?

While mapping class i am getting error &#39;T&#39; must be a non-abstract type with a public parameterless constructor in order to use it as parameter &#39;T&#39; in the generic type or method.

For filling my class properties dynamically i have another class called MapperBase Class with following methods:

There is another class which inherits the SqlreaderBaseClass called DefaultSearch. Code is below

But whenever I tried to build , I am getting error &#39;T&#39; must be a non-abstract type with a public parameterless constructor in order to use it as parameter &#39;T&#39; in the generic type or method. Even T here is Restaurant has a Parameterless Public constructor.

I would like simply delete some polygons from a SpatialPolygonsDataFrame object based on corresponding attribute values in the @data data frame so that I can plot a simplified/subsetted shapefile.  So far I haven&#39;t found a way to do this.

For example, let&#39;s say I want to delete all polygons from this [world shapefile][1] that have an area of less than 30000.  How would I go about doing this?

Or, similarly, how can I delete Antartica?

If I do something like this, the plot does not reflect any changes.

Simple way to subset SpatialPolygonsDataFrame (i.e. delete polygons) by attribute in R

I see `&lt;cr&gt;`s a lot in vim mappings, but what does it do?

What is the meaning of a &lt;CR&gt; at the end of some vim mappings?

Without subclassing dict, what would a class need to be considered a mapping so that it can be passed to a method with `**`.

At least to the point where it throws errors of missing functionality of mapping, so I can begin implementing.

I reviewed emulating container types but simply defining magic methods has no effect, and using `ABCMeta` to override and register it as a dict validates assertions as subclass, but fails `isinstance(o, dict)`. Ideally, I dont even want to use `ABCMeta`.


Class that acts as mapping for **unpacking

In Haskell, I can easily map a list:

    map (\x -&gt; 2*x) [1,2]

gives me `[2,4]`. Is there any &quot;mapTuple&quot; function which would work like that?

Actually, I would say that both iOS `ViewControllers` and Android `Activities` have their lifecycle methods. For example an equivalent of `ViewController.viewDidLoad()` is `Activity.onCreate()` ?

I want to be able to get a estimate of the distance between two (latitude, longitude) points. I want to undershoot, as this will be for A* graph search and I want it to be **fast**. The points will be at most 800 km apart.

How can I quickly estimate the distance between two (latitude, longitude) points?

I&#39;m trying to map some Java classes using the Hibernate JPA implementation. My problem is that I can&#39;t use hardcoded Strings als column namens. You can see the error message I get in the picture below.

JPA Cannot resolve column/IntelliJ

Currently there are two main popular Java Object to Object mapping frameworks that supersede Dozer (http://dozer.sourceforge.net/documentation/mappings.html), they are: 

 1. Selma - http://www.selma-java.org/
 2. MapStruct - http://mapstruct.org/

With the exception of this page (http://vytas.io/blog/java/java-object-to-object-mapping-which-framework-to-choose-part-2/) I haven&#39;t been able to find much online regarding which framework is better than the other, or under what circumstances they are better. Wondering if anyone you can shed some light on this. In terms of functionality based on the documents, they seem to be doing the same thing.

Java mapping: Selma vs MapStruct

After searching a bit on the net it seems that I can&#39;t map &lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt;&lt;kbd&gt;Space&lt;/kbd&gt; to anything/alot. Is there a way to do it today, what I found was usually 2 years old.
