I am trying to make a script run when &lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt; + &lt;kbd&gt;Alt&lt;/kbd&gt; + &lt;kbd&gt;e&lt;/kbd&gt; is pressed.  
How can Tampermonkey fire on a simultaneous ctrl, alt, and e key?

I have tried `ctrlKey`, and `altKey`.  I&#39;ve found nothing that works.  
How can I edit the script below to fire on &lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt; + &lt;kbd&gt;Alt&lt;/kbd&gt; + &lt;kbd&gt;e&lt;/kbd&gt;, instead of just &lt;kbd&gt;e&lt;/kbd&gt;?

Detecting combination keypresses (Control, Alt, Shift)?

I have an application that has a certain page -- let&#39;s call it Page A. Page A is sometimes a top-level page, but also sometimes is embedded as an iframe within page B. All pages come from the same server and there are no cross-domain issues.

I have a greasemonkey script that runs on page A. How can the greasemonkey script detect whether page A is within the iframe context or not?

The [GreaseSpot page on metadata blocks][1] says that the two are very similar but `@match` &quot;sets more strict rules on what the `*` character means.&quot;  GreaseSpot then proceeds to [teach][2] using `@include`, but Chrome examples like [this][3] generally seem to use `@match` and indicate that `@include` is only supported for compatibility purposes; `@match` is preferred.

[Apparently][3], `@include google.*` can run on google.evil.com while `@match google.*` cannot.  
That one example is not sufficient to really see how the wildcards behave differently between these two, and better explanations are sought in answers here.

New GreaseMonkey scripts (Firefox) use `@include` by default while new TamperMonkey scripts (for e.g. Chrome) use `@match` by default.

What exactly are the differences between these two?

For example, how does each one handle wildcards?  
Are there differences in cross-browser compatibility?  
What reasons would someone have for choosing to use one over the other?

What is the difference between @include and @match in userscripts?

I&#39;m making a Greasemonkey script and would like to open a new tab which will not display a URL but some HTML that is part of the script. So basically I want to do something like this (which is obviously not working):

    window.open(&#39;&lt;html&gt;&lt;head&gt;&lt;/head&gt;&lt;body&gt;&lt;/body&gt;&lt;/html&gt;&#39;);
    or
    GM_openInTab(&#39;&lt;html&gt;&lt;head&gt;&lt;/head&gt;&lt;body&gt;&lt;/body&gt;&lt;/html&gt;&#39;);

Open a new tab with custom HTML instead of a URL

I&#39;m working on a script that must be executed in a certain page, depending on the parameters it has. The URL is like this:

```lang-txt
http://example.com/page.php?key1=value1&amp;key2=value2&amp;...
```

And I need to match it when `page.php` has the `key1=value1` among its parameters.

Now I&#39;m using

```lang-txt
@match http://example.com/page.php?key1=value1&amp;*
```

But it doesn&#39;t match if `page.php` has no other parameters. It also won&#39;t match if `key1` is not the first parameter either.

Is there any way to match a page according to a parameter?

How can I use jQuery in Greasemonkey?

The issue is that when I invoke `window.close()` or `self.close()` it doesn&#39;t close the window. Now there seems to be a belief that in Chrome you can&#39;t close by script any window that is not script created. That is patently false but regardless it is supposed to still do it, even if it requires to pop up an alert to confirm. These are not happening.

So does anyone have real, functional and proven method of closing a window using something like `javascript:window.close()` or `javascript:self.close()` that actually does what is expected and something that happens just fine in every browser that is NOT Chrome based? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I am looking for Javascript specific solution, nothing JQuery or third party implementation. 

**Update:** While much of what has been suggested has serious limitations and usability issues, the latest suggestion (specific to TamperMonkey) using **`// @grant        window.close`** in the script header will often do the trick even on those tabs that normally can&#39;t handle the close method. While not entirely ideal and doesn&#39;t generalized to every case, it is a good solution in my case.

As some of you may know, Google Chrome has put some severe limitation on Greasemonkey scripts.

&gt; Chromium does not support `@require`, `@resource`, `unsafeWindow`, `GM_registerMenuCommand`, `GM_setValue`, or `GM_getValue`.

I&#39;m writing a Greasemonkey script for a site which at some point modifies `location.href`.

How can I get an event (via `window.addEventListener` or something similar) when `window.location.href` changes on a page? I also need access to the DOM of the document pointing to the new/modified url.

I&#39;ve seen other solutions which involve timeouts and polling, but I&#39;d like to avoid that if possible.

I&#39;m writing a Greasemonkey user script, and want the specific code to execute when the page completely finishes loading since it returns a div count that I want to be displayed.

The problem is, that this particular page sometimes takes a bit before everything loads.

I&#39;ve tried, document `$(function() { });` and `$(window).load(function(){ });` wrappers. However, none seem to work for me, though I might be applying them wrong.

Best I can do is use a `setTimeout(function() { }, 600);` which works, although it&#39;s not always reliable.

What is the best technique to use in Greasemonkey to ensure that the specific code will execute when the page finishes loading?

Does it have to be a web address? Or can it be a folder/directory on my computer?

This is for a Greasemonkey script and the (current) target page appears to be running jQuery-UI, 1.5.2.  But, different target pages may run different versions.

It doesn&#39;t give an error, and I put a `console.log(&#39;loaded userscript wifi-autologin&#39;)`, the `console.log` works, but the intended effect of the document.addEventListener doesn&#39;t happen. After doing a bit more debugging, making it print that the addEventListener was called, I discovered that it wasn&#39;t being called.
